Former President of bp Oman · Former CEO of Oman Gas Company (OGC), now OQGN
Yousuf Al-Ojaili brings 39 years of experience across the oil, gas, and renewable energy sectors — spanning Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), Shell Brunei, Oman Gas Company (OGC), and bp. He led OGC and bp Oman for more than 21 years, as CEO of Oman Gas Company (now OQ Gas Networks / OQGN) and President of bp Oman, and served on Oman Oil's Executive Team and bp's Extended Global Leadership Team.
More than 25 of those years focused on major gas-related projects and companies in Oman: developing PDO's upstream gas supply to industries in Sohar and Salalah and the LNG facilities in Sur, growing Oman Gas Company's scope and geographic reach, and driving bp's $16 billion Khazzan and Ghazeer development in partnership with OQ, Petronas, and PTTEP, alongside the joint exploration of Block 77 with Eni of Italy.
His leadership experience spans business growth and strategic development, Omanisation and national talent development, In-Country Value (ICV), and building high-performance organisational cultures — the same priorities EAI now brings to its advisory and coaching work.
Previous board & advisory roles
Board member of Oman Global Logistics Group (Asyad), part of the steering committee behind Asyad Shipping's IPO, and a member of its Audit and Executive Committees; former Chairman of Duqm's Hyport hydrogen project (a joint venture with OQ and DEME of Belgium); board roles with bp Epsilon Limited, Oman Oil E&P, and Tamakul Investment; and industrial advisory roles with Sultan Qaboos University's College of Engineering and the Society of Petroleum Engineers for the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia. He holds a mechanical engineering degree from the University of Tulsa, an MSc in Industrial Engineering from Sultan Qaboos University, and completed leadership development at IMD and INSEAD.
